A simple definition of humility is knowing your place and taking your place. Our Blessed Lady knew her place and took her place every time and God raised Her up to place Her in the highest place in heaven. This same Woman has taken up her place on earth once again in the niche of the rock outside of Lourdes France. She was found there by a little girl, St. Bernadette on this very day in 1858. Since then millions upon millions have found her there IN THAT PLACE… and there they are healed in body and soul, as well as strengthened in faith, hope and charity… given courage to fight the battles of life.
Listen back to the Story of St. Bernadette of Lourdes presented by Morgan Sharpe with special guest Dr. Michael Moran (International Medical Committee of Lourdes) which was aired on Radio Maria Ireland, Friday 16th April 2021.

It was in the year 2014 when I travelled to Annascaul, Co Kerry to attend the “wake” and funeral of my brother in- law. Annascual is a picturesque little village situated between Tralee and Dingle on the Dingle Peninsula itself.
As is usual with these “Housewakes” the neighbours sit around sipping tea or sometimes something stronger if available and talk about the corpse lying in the coffin. As time passes this small talk dries up and a silence descends on the mourners.
This is exactly what happened in my case, so I escaped to the back yard.
Lourdes, a small town in the South of France was privileged to have our Lady appear there 18 times between the nth of February and the 8th of ,July in 1858, to a poor, uneducated and sickly young girl, whose name is now known around the world: Bernadette Soubirous.
