Recorded presentation: Radio Maria Ireland Studios:
11th Feb. Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes & Feast of the World Day of the Sick.
During Part One of the show Morgan Sharpe recounts some of the many difficulties faced by St. Bernadette during her lifetime at Nevers, France.
In Part Two Morgan introduces us to a remarkable story by guest speaker, Philip Brennan from Carryduff, just outside of Belfast, Northern Ireland. Philip had a miraculous cure from terminal bowel cancer while on a pilgrimage to Lourdes.
Philip also recounts how he didn’t want to go to Lourdes, and refused several offers of support to get there, until he received help from a very generous and unusual source. Philip’s wife Catherine also recounts how she coped with both the news of the medical verdict, and the miraculous cure that followed.
Despite all the good news, Philip was left unable to work, which resulted in him suffering from depression. However, once again that need was answered by another set of ‘unusual’ circumstances, which led Philip into the beautiful world of Iconography.
Reminder: The Feast of St. Bernadette takes place on April 16th.
