This Relic is now in the possession of Morgan Sharpe, who has travelled the country for the last 15 years talking about the life of St. Bernadette, and allowing people to bless themselves with the relic. Morgan Sharpe recounts the series of incidents that took place at Lourdes in 1858, which led to ‘Our Lady’ of Lourdes becoming one of the most visited pilgrim sites in the world. The site has been the source of countless reported miraculous cures, 70 of which have been documented by medical science. This radio presentation is courtesy of Radio Maria Ireland.

It was in the year 2014 when I travelled to Annascaul, Co Kerry to attend the “wake” and funeral of my brother in- law. Annascual is a picturesque little village situated between Tralee and Dingle on the Dingle Peninsula itself.
As is usual with these “Housewakes” the neighbours sit around sipping tea or sometimes something stronger if available and talk about the corpse lying in the coffin. As time passes this small talk dries up and a silence descends on the mourners.
This is exactly what happened in my case, so I escaped to the back yard.
